1.
Exit MasterVision if you are currently running it.
2.
Start Windows Explorer under Start > Programs > Windows
Explorer.
3.
Highlight your MasterVision directory. This is usually c: \mv
4.
Click the + sign next to the MV directory to expand it.
5.
With the MV folder still highlighted, select File > New >
Folder. A new folder will appear on the right side. It will have
a name of "New Folder" which you can change to whatever
you like.
6.
On the left side of Explorer, click on the Samples folder.
7.
On the right-side of Explorer, click on the Address.CDX file so
that it is highlighted. Select Edit > Select All from the menu.
All of the files should be highlighted now.
8.
Select Edit > Copy from the menu.
9.
Right-click on the new folder you created in step 5 and select
paste from the pop-up menu.
10.
Start MasterVision. Select File > Utility > Set Data Source.
You should see the new folder you created. Highlight this folder
and click the select button. You should get a message that says
"You are now using data from " your new folder name.
Say OK to this message.
11.
Select File > Utility > Clear Data. WARNING: This will erase
all data in the currently selected school. If you did not get
the message above in step 10, do not do this! If you're convinced
that you're in the right directory, say yes to the warning messages.
12.
At this point, you are in a new school directory ready to be set-up
with whatever data you like. At this time, unfortunately, you
have to reenter the class schedules, ranks, employees, etc. as
you did when you first started using MasterVision. Information
on how to do this is in Chapter 7 of the manual.
13.
To get back to your original school, use the File > Utility
> Select Data Source option from MasterVision's menu, highlight
the folder that has your school data (DBFS is the default name
for the first school), and click the select button. You use this
routine to move from school to school.
14.
Don't want to leave unlucky 13 as the last instruction so, when
done, get up from your chair and spin 3 times clockwise for good
luck.
