1.
Exit MasterVision and any other programs you have running.
2.
Select Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools
> ScanDisk from the Windows menu.
3.
ScanDisk will come up with the C drive highlighted. If MasterVision
is somewhere else, change the drive.
4.
You also have the option for a Standard or Thorough test on this
screen. Select Standard.
5.
A checkbox for "Automatically fix errors" is there as
well. Uncheck it.
6.
Click start for ScanDisk. ScanDisk may find some problems and
ask you to do something with it. Since Microsoft seems to reword
these error messages continuously, I can't get you the exact messages.
Basically, find the error below that looks the closest to what
you are seeing and take the indicated action:
"File
blah blah blah has a path that is too long for MS-DOS":
Ignore this error
"Scandisk
has detected XX lost chains in XX lost clusters": Fix this
error
"Scandisk
has found blah blah blah that is probably just taking up space.":
Delete this one
"You
are about to do blah. Create an undo disk?": Click on no.
We don't need no stinking' undo disk.
If all else fails, select "Fix It" when offered and
"Delete it" if no fix it is available.
7.
Scandisk should be done at this point. Close it.
8.
Select Start > Programs > MasterVision > Reindex. Run
the reindex routine. Click OK to the warning about no one else
being in the system. Click OK when it is done.
9.
Select Start > Shutdown and then Restart the computer. Any
of the above problems should have been corrected at this point.
