Version 5.10.02, 4/6/10
Attendance
Added a spot for a second instructor to be added to the class
Pictures
Tools > Options, General tab now has a spot where you can enter the directory where pictures are stored. This setting is specific to each computer – not for all of MasterVision. Set this for each computer running MasterVision.
Report: Aging, Statements
Tools > Options, Contract tab has a new entry for “Aging Max Days”. A payment overdue more than this number of days will not be shown on the aging reports or statements – essentially, it’s the point where we “give up” trying to collect a payment. Default to 730 days (2 years).
Report: Classes Taught By Instructor
Includes the second instructor added to the attendance if one was entered
Report: Sales
Now has an option to show sales of only certain payment types.
Selector
Added Inquiry Date and Source as criteria
Selector: Excel Export
Added Expire date as an exportable field
Selector: Report
Added the Last Exam date to the report
Version 5.09.07, 8/13/09
Attendance
When taking attendance, you get warnings if the student is Inactive, the student is Expired, and other potential problems. In Tools > Options, Attendance tab; you can now turn off those warnings.
Additionally, a new warning was added for students attending a class they are not enrolled in. This warning is OFF by default but can be turned on in Options.
Version 5.09.05, 5/29/09
Contracts
Infrequent bug that might keep you from making a contract official. Fixed.
If you were using an international date format, the dates generated for the contacts would not be consistent. Fixed.
Find
If you tried to find a last name with an apostrophe in it (O'Shea), you'd get an error. Fixed.
Selector: Export to Excel
Currently in MasterVision, you can put multiple email addresses for a student in the email as long as you use a semi-colon to separate them (todd@yahoo.com;todd@paladinpgm.com). If you then use the Email function in the Selector or send to Outlook through the selector, both of those addresses will get the email which is what we want.
Some folks though are using email services to send emails (Constant Contact for example) and those services do not like it when an email field has multiple email address in it. To address this, an enhancement has been made to the Export to Excel function.
If the Export includes the email field, you'll be asked if you want to "Split multiple addresses for one person to multiple lines?". If you say yes to this, you'll get one line in the Excel output for every email address that student has. For example, if the student is "Todd" and his email in MasterVision is "todd1@paladinpgm.com;todd2@paladinpgm.com;todd3@paladinpgm.com", the Excel output would look like:
Todd, todd1@paladinpgm.com
Todd, todd2@paladinpgm.com
Todd, todd3@paladinpgm.com
That gives you an Excel file with just one address in the email field which your service will probably like better, but it also includes all of the student's email addresses.
Version 5.09.02, 2/10/09
Report: Inventory Barcode Label
Added a new inventory bar code label called “1 Label for each On Hand item”. As the name suggests, this prints a number of labels equal to the “On Hand” setting for every active inventory item.

Version 5.08.04, 4/25/08
Appointment Book
Added a Find button so you can go directly to a date rather than having to move day by day.
Appointments can now have a type. Some types are set by the system (Missed Intro, Retention, Renew) but you can now set your own type for appointments you create.
When an appoinment is marked as done, the date it was done is now recorded. Run the Tools > System Options > Verify Data routine to set the done date for all of your old appointments.
Contacts
When creating a new contact default in the email address from the student.
Follow Up
The follow up items can now have an appointment type. Existing follow-ups will not get this type but new ones will.
(What’s a Follow Up? There’s a MasterVision movie that explains it: http://mastervision.paladinpgm.com/movies.htm)

Version 5.08.01, 1/18/08
Graphics Overhaul
MasterVision has received a graphics update with all new shiny buttons making it much nicer to look at.
Report: Instructor
Added the last exam date and grade.
Selector: Address Criteria
Added a new criteria for Address with values of All (the default), Exclude Blank, and Exclude Good. For All, the student is selected regardless of his address. For Exclude Blank, the student is removed from the output if their first address line is blank. For Exclude Good, the student is removed from the output if their first address line is NOT blank. How might you use these?
If you’re creating mailing labels, you probably don’t want mailing labels for students with no address. You select Exclude Blank and create your mailing labels. If you wanted to email the folks who didn’t get a mailing label, you’d change it to “Exclude Good” and send your emails.
Selector: E-mail Criteria
Addeed All, Exclude Blank, and Exclude Good options for email. Works the same as Address above.
Note that if you are sending emails as your output option, blank emails are already excluded for you. No need to select this option though it doesn’t hurt. This option is handy though to give you a list of only students with email address or only students without email address.
Selector: Sorts
Added Expire Date and Rank as sort options in the Selector.
Selector: Word Merge
Added new fields to Word merges, explained below. The SampleFields document has these new fields on it.
School Name: In Tools > Options, General tab you can enter a name for the school. This is then included in the merge data. This is useful for owners running multiple schools. You can have one merge document that all of the schools use and then merge in the name of the school on to the document.
Lessons to Date: Addeed the lesson to date field
Inquire Date
Inquire Source
Inquire Type
Into Date & Time for the most recent intro appointment.
Version 5.07.06, 9/4/07
Change Data Directory
You can now set the default directory for the File > Change Data Directory command in Tools > Options, General tab.
POS Receipt
Could get an error when printing a receipt, fixed.
Selector: Word Merge, Phonebook
I’ve put up a new Phonebook.doc that can be used with the Selector to make a phonebook. This version puts a large, bold letter at the start of each alphabetically group.
Student Picture
Fixed a problem of pictures getting an error depending on where they were stored on your computer.
Version 5.07.04, 6/29/07
Ranks - Lessons needed to Test
You can now enter a number of lessons required for each rank before the student is allowed to test. You can set this number in the Ranks form (Tools > Options > System Setup Ranks). This defaults to 0, meaning that everyone is eligible to test when their next exam comes up.
Report: Belt Order
Has an option to eliminate students that do not have the required number of lessons.
Report: Who’s Testing
This report has an option to eliminate any student that does not have the required number of lessons for their rank.
Phone numbers were being chopped off, fixed.
Version 5.07.02, 3/23/07
Attendance
Everytime you OK the attendance, the student’s last contact and last attended date would be updated to the date of the class. If you were looking at past attendance, you’d be setting the date to an incorrect value in the past. Changed attendance to update those dates only if the class date is greater than what is already on the student.
Contacts
If you create a new contact for a student, the contact’s name did not show on the student when the contact was close. Fixed.
Other Finds: Email
Change to find what you entered anywhere within the student email, not just at the beginning. So searching for “todd” would find both landrum.todd@comcast.net and tish@todd.com.
Student Form
You can now right-click the Ranks, Stripes, and Source fields to set those up.
You can double-click in Groups/Clubs to set those up.
Student: Delete
If you delete a student, system asks if you want to also delete any contacts tied to this student. The contact is deleted ONLY if this is the only student they are tied to.
Remove a deleted student from groups, clubs, and class enrollment.
Purge Old Prospects/Students
New function at Tools > Purge Old Prospects/Students.
This allows you to permanently delete old Prospects and Students from MasterVision. Only Status “O” prospects and Status “X” students will be deleted. You are also asked for a Last Attended date. The student has to have last attended before that date to be deleted.
WARNING: Please make a backup of your data before running this function.
Your employee security has to be 90 or more to run this function.
Version 5.07.01, 2/7/07
Attendance: Instructors
Fixed the form where you can add multiple instructors to work a little faster. Click the New button, enter Pin, press Enter, and that person is entered. You can then immediately press enter to go back to pin to do the next person. No need to go to the mouse again.
Follow Up System
MasterVision has a new feature called “Follow Ups” which allow you to create a group of appointment book entries that you can assign to a student with one step. You can use this new system to track your 2/4/6 call backs for prospects or any other type of reminders you need.
A movie showing the follow up procedure at work is here:
http://mastervision.paladinpgm.com/Movie/FollowUp/FollowUp.html
Selector: 5160 Mailing Label (Parent)
This now does only 1 label per parent. Previously you’d get one parent label for every student found. So if the Selector finds 3 students, all with the same parent, you’ll get one label now.
Report: Who’s Testing
If there was no last exam date, it showed 1/1/1900 instead of blank. Fixed.
Word Merge
Added student’s Internal Note and External Note as merge fields. See the Sample Fields merge document for the field name.
